HOLLYWOOD – Two months after settling his ugly divorce with ex-wife Christine Baumgartner, actor Kevin Costner appears to have hit it off with singer-songwriter Jewel.
Costner recently spent time at Richard Branson’s private Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands to participate in a pro-am tennis tournament.
A source told Y!Entertainment’s In Touch that all the guests were “going crazy over him.”
One in particular, the source told In Touch, was Jewel, who was described as flirting with Costner, an Oscar winner and start of “Yellowstone,” during the weekend’s events in the Caribbean.
“He really hit it off with Jewel,” the source said. “At one dinner, they were seated next to each other, laughing and chatting. They looked like they were having a lot of fun.”
The source speculated to In Touch that Costner, 68, and Jewel, 49, share a lot in common. Both are musicians; Jewel is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter best known for her folk-pop hits that rocketed up the Billboard charts in the 1990s. Jewel grew up in Alaska and would be at home on Costner’s 160-acre ranch in Aspen Colorado.
Costner and Baumgartner, his wife of nearly 19 years, in September settled a divorce case that appeared to just get messier and messier over the summer.
The agreement ended a contentious court fight that at one point led to a Santa Barbara, California, judge ordering Baumgartner to get out of Costner’s house.
With the settlement, the couple avoided a potentially ugly trial that was scheduled to start this month in a Santa Barbara County court.
