Though the mere mention of the name Claudette Beaulieu makes General Hospital’s Valentin Cassadine break out in a cold sweat (and it’s sure been a while since we have seen her), actress Bree Williamson has no qualms whatsoever at celebrating a very special milestone.
Happy Birthday, Bree Williamson
That’s because she was born on December 28, 1979, in Toronto, Ontario, which means that this talented performer is turning 44 years old today! Williamson’s first acting role was in the supernatural show Twice in a Lifetime.
Subsequently, she appeared in a number of popular Canadian-produced series including Doc, Earth: Final Conflict, Odyssey 5, and Mutant X. In 2002, Williamson starred in the comedy film National Lampoon’s Adam & Eve, and one year later she joined the cast of the New York-based daytime drama One Life to Live.
Her first OLTL episode originally aired on February 5, 2003, and the role she assumed was Jessica Buchanan, a character who had been played by actress Erin Torpey for 12 years. During her tenure, Williamson was praised for a storyline that explored child molestation and saw Jessica splinter into multiple personalities.
For her portrayal of Jessica, Williamson received three consecutive Daytime Emmy Award nominations in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress. She remained with the soap until its final episode, which aired on January 13, 2012.
Williamson is also known for appearing in a number of popular primetime programs including Gossip Girl, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, CSI, True Detective, and Chicago Fire. She had a recurring role on Sci Fi’s Haven and she was a primary character on the NBC serial Deception.
In the summer of 2016, Williamson accepted an offer to appear on ABC’s General Hospital, and her first episode as Claudette Beaulieu aired on July 5 of that year. She continued to appear on a recurring basis until October 27, 2017.
Outside of her acting career, Williamson is the proud mother of McGreggor Edward, a son she shares with her second husband Michael Roberts. She is also an advocate for Planned Parenthood and a supporter of breast cancer awareness.
