Hollywood veteran Sylvester Stallone has provided a glimpse of his Rambo-themed typewriter — custom-made and gifted by nine-time Oscar-winning filmmaker Billy Wilder — which he used to write the script for Rambo movies.
“Receiving ‘Rambo’s Typewriter’ from the incredible director and producer Billy Wilder was truly humbling. It’s a piece of Rambo I’ll cherish forever,” the 77-year-old actor wrote on Instagram alongside a video showcasing the typewriter.

In the video, Stallone takes viewers through the story behind the typewriter. “A long time ago, there was a brilliant director named Billy Wilder, he won 9 Oscars, okay,” he says, adding that the Sunset Boulevard director came to America as an immigrant and went on to become a Hollywood legend.
“He was a genius and he made me this typewriter,” Stallone says, showing the typewriter which has the words ‘Rambo’s typewriter’ imprinted on it.
The typewriter is a miniature version of the action scenes in Stallone’s Rambo films. It has a figure of a brown jacket-clad Rambo placed on the side of the typewriter. There are all sorts of weaponry figures like tanks, guns and missiles attached to the body of the machine. On the top of the typewriter, we can see a miniature helicopter, a US flag and some figures of soldiers wielding rifles.
“I’m typing bombs, I’m typing helicopters, tanks, bullets that are coming out. I just thought this is a really incredibly ingenious idea for a brilliant guy,” Stallone said about the Rambo franchise’s action sequences mirrored in the typewriter, adding that he still uses it.
