Farmer Wants A Wife’s Todd Faces ‘Tough’ Conversation After Shock Moment

They say first impressions count and, when you’re one of four women vying for the same love interest, a negative impression could just send you home.

That’s what Farmer Wants a Wife contestant Daisy is afraid of, after meeting close friends of Farmer Todd on Wednesday’s episode of the Channel 7 dating show.

Two of Todd’s friends suggested to the farmer that Daisy appeared to have similarities to a former partner.

On Sunday night’s episode, Daisy and Todd’s budding relationship hit a snag as the pair mulled over Daisy’s sometimes-strained meeting with his friends.

Daisy discussed the incident with Todd and later expressed concern she could be sent packing because of the early opinions formed by his friends.

“I hope I didn’t give them the wrong impression. It might have seemed a little bit snappy,” she told producers.

“I was sort of backed into a corner and put my walls up a little bit.

“It sort of worries me a little bit, thinking they have the wrong idea of me. I think there were some concerns that were raised to Todd.

“I want to talk to him and I’d love that reassurance.”

During Daisy’s conversation with Todd’s friends, one of them said: “When I first met you, I found your persona to be quite a hard persona, is there any reason for that?”

Appearing taken aback, Daisy said “no rudeness” was intended, before joking that she “might have a resting bitch face”.

Ahead of the episode airing, Todd told 7NEWS.com.au “it was pretty tough to hear” that his friends did not get the best impression.

Daisy has been a frontrunner for Todd since the farmer and his ladies joined the show, even selected by the farmer for his first 24-hour date.

Todd says he has previously acknowledged Daisy’s similarity to his ex, expressing that it had “crossed my mind”.

“But at the same time, it was completely different stakes, it’s a completely different person,” the farmer says.

“You can see the similarities, but you can’t judge one person compared to another.”

During Sunday’s episode, Daisy pulled Todd aside for a conversation to see where his head was at.

“They had a few concerns,” he told her of his friends’ impressions.

“I guess it was the fact that you’re very similar to my previous relationship, and they didn’t want me to fall back into something that wasn’t good and didn’t end well.

“They don’t want to see me hurt again, and it threw a spanner in my works.

“It gave me something to think about.”

An emotional Daisy told him it was “hard to hear” that his friends were “a bit standoffish” about her.

“If the opportunity ever arose to see them again, they could get to know me a bit better, but that’s not my decision,” she said.

Todd told her: “It’s given me more to think about. I wish they could see the softer side of you.”

Daisy told producers through tears that “it just guts me because I adore the absolute hell out of the man”.

“His friends’ opinions — they matter a lot,” she said.

“Yeah, it’s just a bit disappointing that I could be the one to go home purely because I made the wrong impression on his friends.”

Todd tells 7NEWS.com.au it “was hard to have that conversation with Daisy” but it probably needed to happen.

The farmer also shares what fans did not see during the meet-the-friends’ episode, adding that there were some positives about the meeting.

“The other thing that (the episode) didn’t show was that my friends said good stuff about Daisy too; it wasn’t all negative comments,” he said.

“Once they got to talking to her, they had a bit more of a softer moment.

“She does have that softer side.

“It is hard to judge someone on a first meeting, which I guess was what they were doing.

“They only had the day to make a decision on what they thought about Daisy.

“I guess it’s like a knee-jerk reaction.”
