Kevin Costner has a brand new look!

On Friday, May 17, the two-time Oscar winner, 69, was photographed for the first time with a gray mustache while in the South of France for the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where he will premiere his film Horizon: An American Saga on Sunday, May 19.

Costner wore classic black pants and a black suit jacket with a white collared button-down shirt underneath. While posing for pictures at a Chopard event, he also showed off a black and silver watch.

Costner was mustache-free in his portrayal of John Dutton in Yellowstone. He joined the Western drama series in 2018, but his future with the series is currently unknown.

“I don’t want to get down in the gutter with the Yellowstone thing but what I’m telling you is straight up,” he told Deadline in an interview published on Tuesday, May 14.

“I have taken a beating from those f—ing guys and I know a lot of times where it’s coming from. I just elected not to get into that,” Costner told the outlet of his relative silence on the topic. “I made Yellowstone the first priority, and to insinuate anything else would be wrong.”

Part of his ongoing drama with the Paramount Network show could have to do with the fact that he was also filming another project during a similar timeframe — his upcoming Western epic.

Costner added that he had left the set of Horizon to film what he believed would be the second half of season 5 of Yellowstone.

“I said, ‘Well, look, I’m doing my movie. If you want me to work a week because you want to kill me or whatever else, I can give you a week,’ ” he explained.

“I really didn’t have that week to give them, but I said, I’ll do that,” Costner told Deadline. “And then they [spun that] into, I only wanted to work a week.”

Horizon “chronicles a multi-faceted, 15-year span of pre-and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West,” per the film’s synopsis.

Costner also produced the film through his Territory Pictures and co-wrote it with Jon Baird.

Chapter 1 of Horizon is in theaters June 28, then Chapter 2 on Aug. 16.
