The spaghetti Western A Fistful of Dollars is getting a remake, and anytime it’s announced that a beloved film is getting rebooted, it typically causes an uproar on social media. This time, many fans are against the idea, but they’re finding themselves open to it as long as Clint’s son, Scott Eastwood, is cast in the role.
In A Fistful of Dollars, Clint Eastwood starred as the mysterious main character, a gunslinger known as the Man with No Name. He would reprise the role in two Western sequels, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The fan response to the first film of the “Man with No Name Trilogy” getting remade includes many fans saying they’d watch the movie if Scott Eastwood is cast, but that’s the only reason they’d give it a chance.

“As much as I am opposed to this idea, IF they completely go through with this, they should cast Scott Eastwood as The Man With No Name,” as one X post stated.
Another X post noted, “A remake of the Sergio Leone and Clint Eastwood classic A Fistful of Dollars could only work with Scott Eastwood.”
“If it ain’t Scott, I don’t want it.””I don’t see a reason for making this other than milking it for money,” said someone else. “However, if they do this, they better have Scott Eastwood take up his father’s iconic poncho. If it ain’t Scott, I don’t want it.”
Though he’s the son of a famous actor and filmmaker, Scott Eastwood has proven himself with dozens of movie roles. He notably has experience with Westerns as the lead star of the 2015 movie Diablo. He’s also appeared in movies like Fury, Texas Chainsaw 3D, Suicide Squad, and Pacific Rim Uprising. More recently, the younger Eastwood was seen on the big screen with his role as Little Nobody in the franchise sequel Fast X, reprising the character he played in The Fate of the Furious.
No Cast Members Have Been Named for the Remake of A Fistful of Dollars
No cast members have been announced for the remake at this time. The project is in its early stages, so both a director and screenwriter also have yet to be named. What’s known is that the movie will be developed by Gianni Nunnari and Simon Horsman’s Euro Gang Entertainment in collaboration with FPC’s Enzo Sisti and Jolly Film, the producer of the original version of A Fistful of Dollars.
“Enzo is one of the most experienced producers in the film business, and we are fortunate to call him our partner on this incredible project,” a statement by Nunnari and Horsman noted. “We are determined to produce a remake that does justice to the great Sergio Leone’s classic.”
Sisti added, “I am delighted to partner with Gianni again having just worked with him on Those About to Die, and with Simon on the remake of this classic film, which created a whole new sub-genre in film spawning over 500 European Westerns.”
A Fistful of Dollars is currently streaming on Prime Video, Max, and AMC+.
