Farmer Wants A Wife runner up Krissy Smith, 29, has shared further details on the breakup that left her “shocked”.

Paired with 22-year-old Farmer Tom Boyer, Krissy was blindsided to end the season as his second choice, telling Yahoo! that they had a “sexual relationship” throughout the show.

“You can imagine how shocked I was to be sidelined at that point,” she told the publication.

Krissy added that she doesn’t believe Tom deserved a “nice guy edit” and that his portrayal on screen felt “grossly unfair”.

“He has a lot of growing up to do,” the Farmers star continued, grateful that she formed strong friendships with the other women on the show.

After the finale, Krissy sought clarity. At the time, Tom was with his winner Sarah Cranley. So, with her permission, Krissy tried to arranged a call with the farmer but, according to the 29-year-old, he “kept her hanging” and never shared an explanation.

When Tom publicly declared his heart belonged to Sarah, Krissy released a candid statement about her Farmers experience.

“To say my heart was shattered into a thousand pieces, isn’t enough, because it’s in a million,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Unfortunately this time around, my rose coloured glasses were tinted a bit too much and it wasn’t meant to be.

“We are in an environment whereby we put our real life on hold and unravel ourselves for the potential of finding the one, but this time, for me, it crumbled.”

While Farmer Tom and Sarah were a united front at the reunion, their relationship was not meant to be.

“Unfortunately, that lifelong love that I was seeking with Tom did not turn out the way that I had hoped it would,” she wrote.

“It’s definitely a relief now to put that truth out there that Tom and I are no longer together.”

She continued: “Relationships don’t always work and people are not always who you think they are.

“I can hold the knowledge that I gave my all to the experience and our relationship during, and since, the show, and I am really proud of that.”
