“She wasn’t suited to the role.”
Farmer Wants a Wife Australia fans have shared their reactions to host Samantha Armytage leaving the show, and they have mixed opinions.
On August 4, Samantha, who’s hosted the hit dating show since quitting Sunrise in 2021, told the Daily Telegraph she was departing Channel Seven after 21 years with the network.
In light of her departure, fans have taken to social media to celebrate the return of Natalie Gruzlewski, who hosted the series between 2007 and 2012 before returning in 2020.
“Sorry Sam, but Nat was natural,” one user wrote to a fan group on Facebook.
“I wish Sam all the best, but I am so glad Natalie’s finally back hosting her show again… It’s always been Natalie’s show,” another penned.
A third netizen claimed Samantha wasn’t “suited to the role”, and a fourth said: “I prefer Nat but didn’t dislike Sam.”

Others were saddened by the news that Samantha was leaving the show.
“I like Sam, too many judgemental people. I hope she’s okay too,” one person commented. Another stated that the 47-year-old did a “good job”.
A third fan said they “weren’t surprised” by the TV presenter’s exit given the online backlash she received throughout her run on FWAW.
“She got bullied by a LOT of people on this page. I thought both Sam and Nat did a good job,” they wrote.
