Leaked filming snaps have raised fans’ suspicions that Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) and Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) are preparing to tie the knot later this year.
Viewers were left heartbroken after Cash called off his engagement to Eden, but fans have now noticed some telling signs that they could be tying the knot after all.
A leaked photograph shows actor Peter Phelps, who plays Cash’s foster father Gary, filming on the set, with fans convinced his return must be for a milestone storyline.
Gary was last seen in Summer Bay for the funeral of his foster daughter Felicity, played by Jackie Purvis, and could be returning for Cash’s big day in a surprise twist.
‘I’m assuming this is Gary coming back for the wedding,’ one Home and Away speculated on a Facebook fan-site.
‘I immediately had the same thought,’ said another, with a third fan agreeing: ‘I hope this means Cash’s wedding will go ahead.’
Their theories were sent into overdrive when a Home and Away crew member also shared a photograph from a lavish hotel venue in the Southern Highlands.
The photograph featured a blurred-out script and a picture-perfect courtyard in the background, with an insider claiming they could be on location to film a wedding.
‘I did hear that the Southern Highlands location shoot which will probably air at the end of the year may be a low-key wedding,’ a source told Yahoo! Lifestyle.
‘In saying that, while the location shoot [happened], [its] purpose is [unknown]. If it was a low-key wedding, [it] could be one of several couples [like] Tane wanting to legitimise [his] child [with Harper].’
The location in question appeared to be luxury hotel and country estate Milton Park in Bowral, which does cater for weddings in real life.
The last big Summer Bay wedding occurred in April when Leah Patterson-Baker and Justin Morgan, portrayed by real life couple Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart, said ‘I do’ in a stunning ceremony.
In what looks to be a dramatic year, Home and Away fans recently shared another wild theory regarding a twist involving two other popular characters on the show.
The potential plot line involves Jessica Redmayne’s character Harper, who is pregnant to Tane, played by actor Ethan Browne.
Photos taken recently on set showed Jessica flaunting a ‘baby bump’ while filming scenes at Palm Beach, NSW.
However, in a major twist, fans are claiming a pregnancy is ‘usually’ a sign that a character is soon to be axed.
‘Tane, Dana and Harper – yes, she is still filming [while visibly] pregnant. We see this in five to six months,’ a fan posted on the Home and Away Spoilers and Gossip Facebook page.
‘It’s crazy as they are dragging Harper’s pregnancy out longer than the other characters’ pregnancies.’
‘We know once [characters] have a baby they normally leave the show. Harper still has two years [on her] contract left I believe, and Tane – he signs new contracts often as he’s already done his three-year contract, so not sure when he is going to leave!’
The fan then went on to explain that ‘baby characters’ are costly for producers, since up to four ‘baby actors’ are needed to ‘play’ a single character.
This is due to strict regulations regarding using infants for filming.
More evidence was also shared to the Home and Away Spoilers and Gossip fan page showing Harper on set.
The clip shows the characters of Tane, Dana, Mackenzie (Emily Weir) and Mali (Kyle Shilling) sharing drinks and ‘celebrating’.
‘Looks like the baby has been born,’ they posted.
‘Video from filming last week shows Tane, Mac, Dana and Mali having celebratory drinks on [the] Salt balcony.
‘Bad sound but I did hear something like, ”Dana was there”, Tane when leaving said he was off to see Harper. Filming time would be about right for [a] February birth.’
