Guy Fieri Recalls ‘Embarrassing’ Incident At Sylvester Stallone’s House

Guy Fieri once suffered from a case of mistaken identity while hanging out with Sylvester Stallone, but, luckily, the Mayor of Flavortown has a great sense of humor.

The celebrity chef recounted the evening during a new interview with Graham Bensinger, which involved the Rocky star inviting him over to his place to watch a fight on television.

Fieri was hyped up for the occasion, but insisted on cooking.

Jay Glazer, the middleman for the conversation, insisted, “No, no, no. He says he’s just ordering sandwiches. You don’t have to come cook. Just come be a guest.” But that’s not how things work in Flavortown.

“I’m not coming to Sly’s house and not cooking,” Fieri insisted again. The actor finally caved, and even asked the chef if he was cool with him inviting more people to the party.

“I said, ‘It’s his house,’” Fieri recalled. But when it came down to showtime, Fieri was standing behind the bar in a denim jacket, taking in the space of Sly’s cigar room, when he was accosted by someone else working the event.

“…this lady comes in and goes, ‘Lose the jacket. Get going,’” he shared. “She thought I was there to work. She thought I was a bartender.”

Eventually, while he was cooking in the kitchen, the woman realized who he was and called over a makeup artist named Ariel who was with the chef. “She calls him over, and she goes, ‘Please, please tell him I didn’t know who he was. I’m really embarrassed.’” Fieri wasn’t even aware at the time, but after, he said, “We had a great laugh.”
