The show premiered in 2022 and returns for its second season on Sunday, Sept. 15 on Paramount+.

If it’s been a while since you watched Season 1, or you’re ready to jump in on Season 2 without having seen previous episodes, check out the guide below to find out everything you need to know about the second season of “Tulsa King” on Paramount+.

What Happened in Season 1 of ‘Tulsa King’?

Season 1 of “Tulsa King” starts with Dwight Manfredi’s release from prison after 25 years. He’s a loyal soldier of the Invernizzi family of New York, but in his time in prison, the family has essentially left him behind. With no New York prospects for their loyal capo, the bosses decide to send Dwight to Tulsa.

Dwight is initially unsure of what to do in Oklahoma, but when he finds out recreational marijuana is legal there, he puts together a plan to bring the local dispensary owner under his “protection.” He hires a man named Tyson as his personal driver and soon begins to assemble a local crew including Armand, who first tries to kill Dwight because he thinks the capo has been sent to kill him for breaking an old vow to the Invernizzi family.

As the season progresses, Dwight attracts the attention of Stacy Beale, an ATF agent who he previously had a relationship with. The two rekindle their old romance, and Dwight flies to New York for some family business, reconciling with his estranged daughter Tina.

Upon his return to Tulsa, Dwight finds a local motorcycle gang trying to move in on his territory. He’s got a capable crew of his own by now, but he still has to tread carefully with the law not far behind. Things take a turn for Dwight in the Season 1 finale, as just when he thinks he has the competition taken care of and new sources of legitimate income, Stacy arrests him for bribery, using a flash drive he gave her containing access to a $1 million bank account as evidence.

What Will Happen in ‘Tulsa King’ Season 2?

Season 2 of “Tulsa King” will see Dwight trying to move past his latest arrest, get his casino up and running successfully, and keep things rolling at the weed shop. But soon, his crew realizes that their little empire is attracting the attention of some powerful rivals, including the Kansas City mob and some powerful businessmen a little closer to home.

Dwight will have to keep on top of all of these problems if he wants to survive, stay in business, and avoid going back to prison. That’s already a lot for one person to handle, but he’s still got some personal business to attend to back in the Big Apple.

Who Are the Key Characters of ‘Tulsa King’ Season 2?

  • Dwight “The General” Manfredi: Played by Sylvester Stallone. Capo to the Invernizzi family who has essentially been exiled to Tulsa after 25 years in prison. Ever-industrious, Dwight has plenty of ideas on how to make his new position pay.
  • Stacy Beale: Played by Andrea Savage. An ATF agent who has had an on-again, off-again romance with Dwight, but is committed to her work and will not hesitate to bring him down if he steps too far out of line.
  • Lawrence “Bodhi” Geigerman: Played by Martin Starr. Owner of the local marijuana dispensary, and a key cog in Dwight’s new Tulsa crew. Bodhi helps Dwight keep the entire operation running with the profits from his legal weed operation.
  • Tyson Mitchell: Played by Jay Will. Dwight’s personal driver, and one of the first members of his new empire. Tyson’s role in Dwight’s crew has upset his father, and strained relations between the two as Tyson tries to choose between his family and his newfound lifestyle.
  • Armand “Manny” Truisi: Played by Max Casella. Another of Dwight’s soldiers, a Tulsa local working at a horse ranch who once broke a vow to the Invernizzi family and mistakenly assumed Dwight would try to kill him because of it.
  • Don Charles “Chickie” Invernizze: Played by Domenick Lombardozzi. One underboss of the Invernizzi crime family, Chickie’s decision to murder his father in Season 1 elevates him to the top chair. He’s got unfinished business with Dwight and is unlikely to allow him to go on with his Tulsa business in peace.
  • Cal Thresher: Played by Neal McDonough. An extremely territorial businessman who has built up a large power base in Tulsa, and doesn’t intend to share with Dwight or anyone else.

Does ‘Tulsa King’ Connect to Any Other Taylor Sheridan Shows?

No, “Tulsa King” is a standalone show that does not connect to any other Taylor Sheridan Series. Sheridan has a history of creating titles in the same universe, as he did with “Yellowstone” prequels “1883” and “1923,” as well as upcoming projects like “6666” and “The Madison” which are all a part of the wider “Yellowstone” canon.
