There are quite a few shakeups that could happen after the ending of Tulsa King season 2, episode 4, and the entire gang world of the show could soon look completely different. There are already quite a few irons in the fire for the characters of Tulsa King. Dwight is setting up his wind farm and hydroponic weed farm, Tyson is getting more involved in the gangster life, and Cal Thresher, Bill Bevilaqua, and Chickie Invernizzi are all coming after Dwight in their own ways. With so much going on at once, the ending of Tulsa King season 2, episode 4, might need a bit of clarification.
Tulsa King season 2, episode 4 introduced a pair of very important characters into the show’s mix. The first was Med Hat, a leader of the Quapaw Nation who agreed to help Dwight purchase the wind farm. The second, and perhaps much more important, was Jackie Ming, a Chinese crime boss who was allied with Cal Thresher. Jackie could have a major impact on Tulsa King season 2, so getting to know him and how he connects to Thresher could be of the utmost importance.
Dwight’s Deal With Med Hat & The Wind Farm Explained
Cal Thresher Forced Dwight Into Accepting A Lackluster Deal With Med Hat
Dwight has been trying to buy a wind farm from his former prison buddy for most of Tulsa King season 2, and episode 4 finally saw him buy it. Unfortunately, even that step forward came with its own setback. Dwight needed a loan to buy the wind farm, and since he couldn’t get one through a bank, he turned to Jimmy’s contacts, an investor named Med Hat (Gregory Zaragoza). Med Hat agreed to loan Dwight the money, but he demanded 20% of the wind farm’s energy be available to the Quapaw Nation reservation, and he wanted 20% of Dwight’s proceeds from the hydroponic weed farm.
Med Hat’s terms weren’t the most favorable for Dwight, as they significantly cut into his profit margin on both the wind farm and the weed farm, but he had to accept. Cal Thresher had learned about the wind farm through Armand, so Dwight had to beat the deal he had already offered. Med Hat’s deal means Dwight and the gang won’t be able to make the wind farm into the massive moneymaking scheme they wanted it to be. Bodhi mentioned he’d barely have enough energy to make the hydroponics function, and now there will be 20% less profit than before.
The deal with Med Hat essentially means Dwight will lose less money to start generating electricity and get the hydroponics working, but he won’t make as much as time goes on.
Though it was a bit of a raw deal for Dwight, there were a few silver linings. Med Hat offered to use tribal grant program funds to help Dwight repair the turbines, which will significantly reduce his upfront costs to get the wind farm running. That essentially means Dwight will lose less money to start generating electricity and get the hydroponics working, but he won’t make as much as time goes on. That also means Dwight will need to look for other sources of income, which leads directly into his next scheme at Donnie Shore’s car dealership.

Donnie’s Licenses Will Let Mitch & Dwight Earn Much More Later On
Mitch and Dwight met back up with Donnie Shore, the used car dealer who they stole catalytic converters from. At the end of Tulsa King season 2, episode 2, Mitch had convinced Donnie to sell the dealership to Dwight, and the gangsters were there to strike a deal. They eventually agreed to Donnie’s price, but there was one somewhat confusing part of the deal: Donnie’s General Motors licenses. As he explained, Donnie had licenses that allowed him to sell GM products in perpetuity that would transfer over to Dwight when he purchased the dealership.
Donnie also mentioned that the licenses were the reason his asking price was so high, so it’s not entirely clear why they were so valuable. The GM licenses mean that Dwight can now sell any GM product, including Chevy, Cadillac, GMC, and Buick cars, all their parts, and OnStar navigation and safety features. Normally, the license to sell those products would come at a very high expense, but Donnie’s deal likely put them at a fraction of the cost. Dwight and Mitch will have a huge catalog of inventory, and they won’t spend nearly as much on renewing the license as other dealerships would have to.

What Is Vince Planning To Do About Chickie In Tulsa King Season 2?
Vince Could Be Planning A Takeover Of The Invernizzi Family
One of the biggest shakeups Tulsa King season 2, episode 4 introduced was back in New York, specifically through Vince (Vincent Piazza) and his relationship with Chickie. While they were hanging out, Chickie heavily alluded to the fact that he killed his father and former boss, Pete. As far as Vince was aware up to that point, however, Pete had died from a heart attack, so Chickie’s half-confession was a shock to him. Then, after Chickie had passed out drunk, he got a call from Bill Bevilaqua, and Vince answered.
Vince spoke briefly with Bill, and he told him he would reach out again. That’s coupled with the fact that Goodie didn’t go through with the plan to kill Dwight at the end of Tulsa King season 2, episode 3, which made Bill angry with Chickie. Now, with Bill Bevilaqua against him, the truth about Pete’s death coming to light, and Vince working behind his back, it seems that Chickie’s position as the head of the Invernizzi crime family could be in jeopardy. Vince may be planning to oust Chickie and take over the family for himself, and he could be seeking Bill’s support in doing so.
Is Dwight Manfredi Reconsidering His Gangster Lifestyle?
If Dwight Wants To Go Straight, He Has A Few Legitimate Businesses To Fall Back On
Another potential shakeup for Tulsa King season 2 came at the end of the episode, when Dwight was speaking to Mitch in the Bred2Buck. Dwight expressed quite a few regrets during that conversation, as he talked about how he couldn’t control his impulses, how he was constantly seeking out danger, and how he didn’t have to become a gangster when he was a young man. Mitch then poetically called Dwight a searcher, and accurately predicted that he’d always be looking for the next best thing once he got what he wanted. That conversation seemed to indicate that Dwight was reconsidering his gangster lifestyle.
If Dwight is really having reservations about being a gangster, there are a few ways it could play out. Dwight could go mostly legit, as he indicated he wanted to in Tulsa King season 2. Many of his schemes, including the wind farm, the car dealership, and the weed dispensary, are mostly legal. Once he sets them up, he could go almost entirely straight, like Cal Thresher, and leave the bulk of his criminal ways behind. Alternatively, Dwight could be forced to continue down his mobster path. He’s created quite a few enemies so far, and they likely won’t let him go straight without a fight.
Cal Thresher’s Partnership With Jackie Ming Explained
Cal Doesn’t Have Nearly As Much Control Over Jackie As He Thought
Even with the bombshells of Dwight’s reservations and Vince’s possible plans, there was one revelation that stole the show in Tulsa King season 2, episode 4: Cal Thresher’s business partnership with Jackie Ming (Rich Ting). Jackie is the leader of a Chinese gang who has been working with Cal and helping him grow and distribute weed. Until now, it wasn’t entirely clear what the nature of their relationship was, but Tulsa King proved it’s a bit more complicated than a simple partnership. Jackie is helping with the weed by providing workers and protection, but he’s also posing a threat to Cal’s empire.
Jackie had secretly planted poppies, which are used to produce heroin, in Cal’s weed fields, and Cal demanded he have them removed. He reasoned that since it was his land, Jackie had to listen to him, no matter the deal they had previously agreed on. Later, while dealing with two workers who were caught stealing, Jackie surprised Cal and shot them both dead without his approval. That moment illustrated that Jackie and Cal don’t really have a partnership: Jackie is using Cal for his land and resources, and he’s not afraid to assert his dominance with physical violence.
Cal Thresher seems to be in way over his head. He doesn’t control Jackie or the Chinese gang nearly as much as he thought he did, and his very life may be in danger now. Even one of Cal’s biggest threats, of using his influence with the U.S. Attorney against Jackie, had no impact on the crime lord. The paradigm shift between Cal and Jackie could have some major implications for Tulsa King season 2.
Jackie and his heroin production is arguably a bigger threat to Cal’s business than Dwight ever was, and he’ll likely shift his focus to dealing with the Chinese gang instead. Cal probably can’t deal with them on his own, however, without risking legal consequences for conspiring with criminals, so he may seek out help from another source. That would likely be Bill Bevilaqua, who would also be quite angered to learn that Cal invited another rival mob into his territory. That could drive a wedge between the two, which may leave Dwight as Cal’s last chance to get rid of Jackie and his gang.
It’s clearly too early to tell exactly how Cal’s conflict with Jackie will play out, but there are a few exciting ways it could be resolved. If he does end up allying with Dwight, it would completely shift the narrative of Tulsa King season 2. Instead of trying to eliminate Bill and Cal, Dwight could end up with two powerful new allies. Of course, he could also play his cards right and get Bill and Cal to take each other, and the Chinese gang, out all at once. In any case, whenever Dwight’s enemies are facing instability in Tulsa King, it’s usually a good thing for the mobster.
