At long last, Tulsa King is back on our screens for season 2, as our familiar faces face up against new enemies.
Season 2 of the crime drama introduces fans to Neal McDonough’s Cal Thresher, a “powerful and extremely territorial businessman” who clashes with Dwight when they first meet at a local fundraiser.
‘The General’ is planning to expand his marijuana business, which Cal, as someone who also deals in that space, simply cannot allow.
Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com about his character, McDonough said: “Here I am, this oil guy, five generations of oil, who now kind of controls the whole marijuana industry in Oklahoma.
“And the characters that he has to run up against, he’s a country guy who has his codes and such, and he’s going against guys who don’t really have any codes. Frank Grillo’s character [Kansas City mobster Bill Bevilaqua] doesn’t have a code. The only person he finds who has any code is Dwight Manfredi, so my character gravitates much more towards him.
“Although in the beginning we’re butting heads like crazy, by the end there’s a common view and a common ground that we share. We’re on different sides of the fence, but we respect each other by the end of the season. It’s this mutual camaraderie, which is really kind of awesome.”
McDonough went on to tease Dwight and Cal’s final encounter, saying: “It was such a great scene and it just kind of wraps up what it was like to work opposite Sylvester Stallone on one of the greatest shows ever in television. I mean, what can be better than that?”
He continued: “This is something I’m just so bloody proud of that I can’t– it’s hard to even speak about it. I’m so proud of everything that we did this year on Tulsa King.”
So far, the season has gone down a treat with viewers and critics alike, receiving a 100 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes. Not bad.

When is Tulsa King episode 6 released on Paramount Plus?
Episodes are set to be released weekly, meaning the sixth episode of Tulsa King season 2 will be on our screens on Sunday 20th October in the US and on Monday 21st October in the UK.
The series premiered on Sunday 15th September in the US and Canada on Paramount Plus, and on Paramount Plus on Monday 16th September in the UK.

There are 10 episodes in the show’s second instalment – that’s one more episode than season 1.
Episodes will air weekly on Sundays in the US and Canada, and Mondays internationally, with the finale airing on Sunday 17th November in the States and Canada, and Monday 18th November in other territories, including the UK.
