Ever since the highly anticipated return of the show for Season 5 Part 2 on Sunday revealed the fate of Kevin Costner’s character John Dutton there has been a sea of theories flying around about what happened and where the story goes from here.

However, Cole – known as fan-favorite character Rip Wheeler on the show – has admitted that nobody has it right as far as he is concerned.

He said: “This show and what they think this season is going to be, everybody has their opinion of it.”

Cole added to Reuters: “And to be quite honest, none of them are right.”

Cole’s comments come after the debut episode of Season 5 Part 2 delivered the “biggest premiere night ever” with 16.4 million viewers, a press release from VideoAmp claimed.

Meanwhile, Kevin has now shared his reaction to John Dutton’s fate after fans saw his lifeless body in what appeared to be a suicide in the long awaited episode.

Speaking on The Michael Smerconish Program on SiriusXM, Costner addressed the Dutton family patriarch’s ending. He said: “I heard it’s a suicide, so that doesn’t make me want to rush to go see it.”

When host Smerconish pointed out that John didn’t seem like a “suicide kind of guy,” Costner replied: “Well, they’re pretty smart people. Maybe it’s a red herring. Who knows? They’re very good. And they’ll figure that out.”

In the new episode of Yellowstone Season 5, it is revealed that John’s death was only staged to look like a suicide.

In fact, it seems he was actually killed by a hitman hired by Jamie’s (Wes Bentley) girlfriend Sarah (Dawn Olivieri).

Kevin went on to admit: “I didn’t know it was actually airing last night. That’s a swear to God moment.

“I swear to God. I mean, I’ve been seeing ads with my face all over the place and I’m thinking, ‘Gee, I’m not in that one.’ I’m not in this season. But I’ve been seeing, but I didn’t realize yesterday was the thing. … So no, I found out about it this morning actually.”

Addressing why he left the show once more, Kevin opened up about his exit following scheduling issues, where he ultimately felt like he had to put his Horizon movie saga first.
