Eastwood’s Swan Song?

Variety’s film critic Peter DeBruge reviewed the film and said Juror No. 2 “registers as something of an anomaly in (Eastwood’s) oeuvre: It ranks among his quietest films, forgoing spectacle in favor of self-reflection. One could argue the whole system is on trial, and yet, the only angry man here is Eastwood, not the jurors, as Dirty Harry goes out not with a bang but an ambivalent whisper.”

It remains to be seen if Juror No. 2 will be the Oscar-winning director’s swan song. At the premiere of the film at AFI Fest, Collette said of Eastwood, “He will do it as long as he wants.” She added that the director is “endlessly creative, he’s a true artist.”
