Yellowstone season five is currently airing on Paramount with just four episodes remaining before the Dutton saga comes to an end, but could there still be hope for a Beth Dutton spin-off?

The fifth season of Yellowstone is charging ahead with only four episodes left to conclude the Dutton family’s tale, especially after Kevin Costner’s exit as patriarch John Dutton.

Despite this, the Paramount hit series isn’t showing any signs of stopping, with several spin-offs in development and persistent whispers that the main storyline might persist in some form.

In the latest twist, episode 10 of season five sees Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly) grappling with her father John’s demise, conspiring with her brother Kayce (Luke Grimes) to exact vengeance on Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri).

Questions linger about Beth’s fate post-revenge will her story conclude with her father’s avengers brought to justice, or will there be new layers to uncover, perhaps in her marriage to the stoic Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser)?

Reilly has expressed a keen interest in continuing Beth’s journey, praising the current season: “I loved this season,” she admitted.

“There were some really different territories to explore, so I’m not clinging to her. I’m happy to put her back in her padlocked box”, reports the Mirror.

While content with Beth’s trajectory this season, Reilly is open to further exploration if creator Taylor Sheridan presents an enticing storyline.

Speaking to Town and Country, she divulged: “I am definitely interested in Beth, and who she is after some things have happened. Who is she in peace?

“As an actor you’re like, ‘Ooh, let me at that’. Wouldn’t it be fun to watch Beth go to therapy?”

Beth is undeniably one of the most unpredictable and independent members of the Dutton clan, making it difficult for fans to envision her unpacking her emotions.

However, her father’s demise has undoubtedly affected her deeply, and therapy might be the only way for her to overcome both her childhood and recent traumas.

This season also sees the rivalry between Beth and Jamie intensify, as John Dutton’s daughter is convinced that the family’s black sheep is responsible for their father’s death, despite his denial of any knowledge of Sarah’s plot.

In episode 10, The Apocalypse of Change, Beth confronts her brother in his office, slaps him and demands he look at her.

When he refuses, she threatens Jamie that if he does look at her, it will be the last thing he ever sees.

After leaving, Beth encounters Sarah outside and grabs her by the throat. However, her father’s murderer merely laughs, which is enough confirmation for Beth to inform Kayce that Jamie, with Sarah’s assistance, killed their father.

Will Beth and Kayce conspire to end Jamie’s life once and for all?

Or can Jamie persuade them that he is merely a pawn in Sarah’s game and make a triumphant return to the ranch side?

Yellowstone season 5, part 2 continues Sundays on Paramount and the following Monday on Paramount+.
