Jared Padalecki Starring In Upcoming CBS Drama — & No It’s Not The Fire Country Spin-Off

After 347 episodes of Supernatural from 2005-2020, Padalecki moved onto Walker for 69 episodes from 2021-2024. Both were on The CW. After both stints were done he didn’t waste anytime before jumping onto another show. He did a 3-episode arc on the CBS show Fire Country, a show about a firefighting program for convicts.

His time as Camden Casey also came with the announcement that this was a backdoor pilot for his own show, Fire Country: Surfside. Unfortunately for Padalecki, the spin-off isn’t moving forward until Morena Baccarin’s Sheriff Country debuts during the 2025-26 TV season. Baccarin played Sheriff Mickey Fox on Fire Country. And it looks like either Padalecki can’t stop working or CBS wants to lock him in until it’s time for Surfside because he’s set to star in another CBS show.

Anna Fricke, the creator of Walker, is reuniting with Padalecki for an untitled medical drama. According to TVLine, the medical drama will be about a “devoted country doctor (played by Padalecki) who practices his unique style of improvisational medicine alongside his new protégé, a young doctor running from her past, as they operate a mobile clinic and heal the bodies and souls of their underserved community in the medical desert of rural Texas.”

There’s no word on how he’s going to do both shows at the same time or if his Fire Country spin-off has been set aside. But one things for sure, Jared Padalecki is booked and busy.
