Willow still has Lila’s ring. It’s time to give it back.
When General Hospital’s Willow and Michael got married, everyone thought it would last forever. It didn’t. Should she return her engagement ring?
Shouldn’t Have Put A Ring On It
Michael (Chad Duell) didn’t give Willow (Katelyn Irene MacMullen) a store-bought ring. He gave her his beloved Great-Grandmother Lila’s (Anna Lee) engagement ring. This is the Port Charles equivalent of Prince William giving Kate his mother Princess Diana’s ring. Lila was Port Charles royalty.
Willow cheated on Michael—with his uncle no less! She is the reason their marriage ended. Michael wanted to work things out but she is too gaga over Drew (Cameron Mathison). Now he is in a burn center and barely able to speak to make his wishes known. In the meantime, she is walking around with Lila’s ring.
Willow should have the good sense to give the ring back. It is a family heirloom, and it belongs to the family. Numerous Quartermaine women would be happy to wear it. At the very least, she could put it away for Wiley or Amelia to have one day. They are Qs, and it may make the whole clan happy for one of them to have it. Michael’s ex should have no claim to a piece of jewelry from Lila.
Ring Of Fire
No one is more heated about the Willow situation than Tracy (Jane Elliott). While keeping Willow’s children away from her may have been going too far, taking back her mother’s ring is not. In true Tracy fashion, she announced it in front of a restaurant full of people.
Lila’s daughter does not have her mother’s tact or kindness so she has no problem shaming Michael’s ex. Her delivery might not have been great, but it should have made Willow realize that the ring should no longer be hers. If she doesn’t see that, Nina (Cynthia Watros) should point it out to her. But knowing Drew, he will probably convince her to keep it.
It would be great to watch Tracy do her damnedest to have the heirloom back in Quartermaine hands, but Alexis asked her to tone down her attacks on Drew’s girlfriend. What’s the fun in that? Do you think Willow should return the ring? Do you think she will? Let us know in the comments.
