Where have we seen this moment before?
As Trina and Kai’s relationship blossoms on General Hospital, fans couldn’t help but notice a major similarity between their latest scenes and an iconic Sprina one.
Falling For You
On the February 26, 2025 episode, Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) spent the day painting at an interactive art exhibit. After putting the finishing touches on their paintings, when Trina stumbled off her step stool, Kai caught her in his arms and the two shared their first kiss.
This scene almost felt like deja vu for a Trina and Spencer (ex-Nicholas Alexander Chavez) scene from 2023. When Trina, once again, stumbled off a ladder in the gallery, Spencer was there to catch her on one became a signature moment for the supercouple dubbed Sprina.

Fans were quick to notice the callback, jumping at the chance to remember their favorite couple on X (formerly Twitter). “Of course Trina trips on the ladder and Kai catches her. Copying when Spencer caught her,” one fan wrote, while another shared their opinion on the new couple. “I miss Spencer! I don’t see chemistry between Trina and Kai.”
Many noted their longing for a Spencer and Sprina reunion. “Wanna make this Trina storyline with Kai interesting? We need a Spencer Triangle soon!” one fan eagerly posted along with a GIF of Sprina.
One viewer’s opinion was a popular one amongst fans, receiving 30 likes and several replies. “Is it bad that when I see Trina and Kai it makes me miss Spencer? Nothing against the actors, I just like Sprina better!”
