MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. — St. Louis native John Sansone is set to bring a local touch to national television as he joins the third season of Fox’s reality dating show Farmer Wants a Wife. The show, which pairs farmers with potential romantic partners, returns on March 20 at 8 p.m. on Fox 2.
Sansone, a law student at Washington University, has deep agricultural roots. His family’s farm has been in operation for six generations, and he remains actively involved in the farm. “Farming is basically in our blood,” he said. “I love going out there as much as I can, but I also have to focus on law school.”
On the show, Sansone hopes to find a life partner who shares his values. “I want somebody who can be a mother and support me through and through,” he explained. The transition from farm life to reality television was a surreal experience for him. “It looked like Hollywood was brought to our front doorstep,” he recalled.
While Farmer Wants a Wife is a dating show, Sansone sees it as an opportunity to showcase farm life to a broader audience. “People don’t really see what farm life is like—they just see the products in the store,” he said. “This is a great way to portray that lifestyle on TV.”
Sansone’s participation in the show has been a source of pride for his family and friends in St. Louis, who were involved throughout the process. “It was a great honor to bring them along for the journey,” he said.
As for whether Sansone finds love on the show, he remains tight-lipped. “You’re gonna have to tune in on March 20th to find out,” he teased.
