An Atlanta firefighter is swapping out his helmet for a wig and heels on national television. Anaré Holmes, known for battling blazes and serving as the Atlanta Fire Department’s LGBTQ liaison, will strut his stuff on the upcoming “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” FOX 5 Atlanta reports.

The Emmy-winning show, which spotlights the transformational art of drag, will feature Holmes in its fourth episode, airing this Friday. He is one of eight firefighters from across the U.S. participating in the makeover challenge. Contestants on the show will drape these heroes in full drag regalia, complete with the sparkle and drama the series is famous for.

Not new to the world of reality TV, Holmes has previously demonstrated his chops on Netflix’s “Instant Dream Home” in 2022. The Atlanta Eagle, a mainstay in the city’s LGBTQ community, is set to host a watch party at 7 p.m. on Friday for locals to root for their hometown hero, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

Adding to the excitement, Holmes may share the screen with Angeria Paris VanMichaels, a drag queen and former Atlantan who clinched third place in the show’s 14th Season. Secret Atlanta notes, the transformational episode will air on Paramount+. For those without access to the streaming service, they can catch the spectacle alongside fellow fans at the Atlanta Eagle, located at 1492 Piedmont Ave NE.

Fans of the franchise, and of courage in all its forms, are set to witness a display of daring far removed from the usual emergency calls Holmes is accustomed to. His participation shines a spotlight on the intersection of public service and personal identity, celebrating the diversity that characterizes both the city of Atlanta and its servant hearts.
