Legendary action star Sylvester Stallone’s Tusla King has received remarkable accolades with its season 1 run. However, the lead star has recently found himself amid controversy after a background actor accused him of passing comments, making the set unfavorable for the background artist.

Tennessee native, Thomas Mooneyham drove to the set of the show to film his scene in a bar alongside Stallone but it came as an utter regret for Mooneyham, as Stallone, as he claimed, passed derogatory comments on the BG actor on the set of the Paramount+ show.

Tulsa King Background Actor Alleged Sylvester Stallone of Deragotary Remarks

Thomas Mooneyham, a background actor featured in Taylor Sheridan-created and Sylvester Stallone-led Paramount+ action comedy series Tusla King. However, the actor claimed that his greeting on the show by Stallone was beyond what a man could tolerate. To begin with, Mooneyham allegedly encountered serious glances from Stallone as he was asked to leave the bar scene and to be replaced with another young-looking actor, or perhaps a girl.

“I was seated at a table with another gentleman, like we were listening to the band. Stallone’s table with the other main characters was diagonal from ours, about 12 feet away. I did notice that he looked at me a time or two and he talked with, I guess, the director and laughed with him and all. But I didn’t put anything together,” Mooneyham told Deadline.

Mooneyham went on to add, “Then we were moved from the scene and replaced with the younger cowboy and a good looking cowgirl.”

“Now does that bother me? Not in the least. What bothers me is that somebody overheard him and the director. It ain’t even the part that I am fat. I wasn’t the only big one that was there. But I do feel like I was singled out because they said ‘old tub of lard with the cane.’ I was the only one there with the cane.”

Deadline also broke the news of the resignation of Rose Locke Casting, a local casting company hired for the hunt of background actors for Season 2 of the Stallone starrer series.

A Huge Casting Debacle For Tusla King Season 2

Following Deadline’s report of Rose Locke Casting leaving the project, the show has created quite a buzz. The outlet reported that Locke’s departure from the show was due to the disparaging language allegedly used by Stallone. However, director Craig Zisk denied the accusation while speaking with TMZ. According to the director, Locke failed to do their job providing the series with the young actor in place of Mooneyham.

However, per Mooneyham, the scene was quite different than what was intended to establish.

“That’s not a young hipster bar that other people are trying to make it out to be. That is just an old roughneck cowboy country bar. And the name the bar, here’s my point, is Bred-2-Buck. Tell me how many old bronco-riding cowboys who are old and who are not hobbled or crippled? How would a gentleman with a cane not fit into that? But the main thing is my cane was not even visible in the scene. I had it hidden behind my body.”

Mooneyham further revealed that the show, as he considered, was a big gig as he watched the first season with his son. However, the experience of being on the set ruined the very experience of being on the set.

Tusla King season 2 is expected to arrive in the fall of 2024.
