“Last day of BLUE BLOODS. Not sure I have the words to describe how I feel about today, or the last 14 years on this special BLUE BLOODS journey, but I do know how incredibly thankful I am for every moment of it,” Donnie Wahlberg wrote on Instagram. “To the cast, the crew, the guests cast, every background actor, writer, producer and every member of every single dept – thank you.
“To the people of New York, in every neighborhood and borough, thank you for always showing your love,” he continued. “The to NYPD, thank you for your support and sacrifice, I hope we did you proud. Lastly, to my fans, and the fans of this show. We don’t make it 14 days (never mind 14 years) without you! Your love and support for this show has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Thank you.”

Wahlberg wasn’t the only one overwhelmed by the show’s end, as his co-star Marisa Ramirez shared her feelings about the final day of filming.
“Last day of BLUE BLOODS! I don’t have the words yet to express my joy or my sadness but at least I have a homemade sticker shield from Violet to replace the one I had to give back to props today. The sweetest…” she wrote on Instagram.

After 14 years on-air, BLUE BLOODS was canceled last fall. After extensive negotiations, the series was allowed to return for one final season – which got split across the spring and fall – under the condition that all the actors take a major pay cut, a stipulation they were happy to follow if it meant returning to their beloved roles.
Despite clamoring from the fans for more seasons and a desire from the actors to continue with the show, CBS has continued course with Season 14 ending the series despite it also ranking as one of the network’s top titles. Fans of the show, however, may be treated to more BLUE BLOODS soon, as Paramount Global co-CEO Brian Robbins recently teased that a new BLUE BLOODS series is now in the works.
Movieguide® previously reported on BLUE BLOODS:
BLUE BLOODS will be coming to an end with the upcoming 14th season of the popular police drama.
“BLUE BLOODS will forever be a beloved part of CBS’s legacy,” said Amy Reisenbach, the president of CBS Entertainment, and David Stapf, president of CBS Studios, in a joint statement. “It ruled Friday nights with unprecedented dominance since its premiere and established itself as a pillar of our winning lineup with an exceptionally devoted fan base.”
Star Tom Selleck also released a statement, saying, “For the past 13 years it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family,”
“Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes,” he continued. “Thank you to CBS Studios and CBS Network for their steadfast support and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night.”
