The CBS star may be on S.W.A.T., but his former co-star’s Instagram has fans wanting him on Criminal Minds: Evolution.

It’s been some time since Kirsten Vangsness shared the TV screen with Shemar Moore, and it looks like she’s reminiscing about their time together.

The two actors portrayed technical analyst Penelope Garcia and SSA Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds, which aired on CBS from 2005 until 2020. Shemar was on the show for the first 11 seasons, after which he eventually left to star in S.W.A.T. for the network. Kirsten, on the other hand, stayed on throughout the series’ 15 seasons and is currently reprising her role in Criminal Minds: Evolution. As she’s currently working on season 3 of the Paramount+ reboot, Kirsten took the time to share the special bond she shared with Shemar in a throwback photo of the duo on Instagram.

“At the fancy day job today, feeling as full of appreciation as I have from jump,” she captioned the post on October 7. “Here’s a little throwback to original recipe from my vault of @criminalminds pictures with the force that is @shemarfmoore #babygirl.”

When fans saw Kirsten’s sweet nod to Shemar, along with the nickname his character gave hers on Criminal Minds, fans couldn’t stop screaming in the comments. What’s more, some even begged for Shemar to make an appearance on Criminal Minds: Evolution.

“We need Shemar back for an episode!! A babygurl reunion. 🪩,” one person wrote in the comments. “Could we hear a “baby girl”? 😭,” another implored. “I miss you two together on screen 😢,” a different viewer added.

While it’s currently unclear if Shemar will go back to portraying Morgan at some point, it’s important to note he’s done it in the past. After leaving Criminal Minds back in season 11, he later came back for guest appearances in seasons 12 and 13. And FYI, Shemar also reprised another well-loved character he’s portrayed back in April 2023, returning to The Young and the Restless as Malcolm Winters.

Now, if Criminal Minds: Evolution plays their cards right, we’d love to see SSA Derek Morgan stroll back into Quantico to help out the BAU on another case.
