Despite Sporting Abs at 52, Mark Wahlberg Is Ready To Become Hollywood’s Next Clint Eastwood

Mark Wahlberg is already one of the biggest fan-favorite actors in Hollywood, even more so for the terrific fitness regime he follows to maintain his spectacular abs even at the age of 52. But as much as fans love him for all the heroic roles he plays like that of an “elite government assassin” in his recently released Apple TV+ film, The Family Plan, Wahlberg can’t wait to be the next Clint Eastwood for the big screen.

Thinking unlike almost every other actor his age, the Ted star is more than just willing to embrace his “old age” as he expressed his desire to undertake the part of a grandfather for TV, and play heroic roles even as an oldie, just like the legendary 93-year-old Eastwood!

Mark Wahlberg Can’t Wait To Be A Grandpappy… On The Big Screen!

While most wouldn’t have expected this from someone like Mark Wahlberg who doesn’t even look his age at all, that is the wish of the 52-year-old actor: play a grandpappy on the big screen. As he shared with ET on the set of The Family Plan, i.e. his recently released Apple TV+ film:

“I’m a dad now — embracing my old age. A lot of guys my age in the business would probably say, ‘Well, that character has grown kids or kids in their late teens, I don’t want to play that role.’ [But] I’m embracing that. I look forward to playing a grandfather soon.”

However, even that won’t make much of a difference among fans or in his career, considering his popularity won’t allow anyone to be foolish enough to give a sidekick role even to a grandpa playing Wahlberg.

Thus, more or less, the Shooter star would be just like the next Clint Eastwood of Hollywood, judging from how even the 93-year-old latter doesn’t miss out on starring in lead roles despite his advanced age. Well, fans are more than ready for that!

Continuing in the interview, Mark Wahlberg also shared why he decided to do The Family Plan, which stars the real-time father of four as a former “elite government assassin” father of three on the big screen. He said:

“I just thought it was really fun. I think you see a lot of action movies — especially a lot of action comedies — and they don’t have as much character as this one had. I thought it was very interesting to find the family dynamic.”

As interesting as it sounds, you can catch The Family Plan on Apple TV+!

That Reminds Us: What is Clint Eastwood Up To Currently?

On the one hand, while Mark Wahlberg is all set to take his position in the entertainment industry as the next Clint Eastwood, on the other, the former Mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea is reportedly currently working on the last film of his career.

An actor cum director-producer, the 93-year-old mastermind has led a thoroughly successful career in almost all respective fields for a stunning almost seven-decade-old career. The movie he is currently working on, i.e. Juror #2, will reportedly be the last film of his spectacular era.

Although no release date has been confirmed as of now of the movie, it has been reported that Nicholas Hoult will be playing Justin Kemp in it, with some of the other cast including Zoey Deutch, Toni Collette, Ella Fraley, and J.K. Simmons, among others.

Hopefully, Juror #2 will turn out to be the perfect final film that Clint Eastwood is expecting to make before he retires from the film industry.
