Is GH erasing a pivotal part of Kristina?
Kristina has been out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community since 2016 when the character, then played by Lexi Ainsworth, questioned her sexuality on General Hospital. But now, despite having a thriving relationship with Blaze, some viewers are worried GH is about to rewrite history.
How Does Kristina Identify?
When Kristina (Kate Mansi) was SORASed in 2009, the character was only seen in straight relationships, starting with her abusive boyfriend Kiefer (Christian Alexander). She later dated and eventually married Connie’s (Kelly Sullivan) son Trey (Erik Valdez), had a short-lived relationship with a boy named Aaron (John DeLuca), and had memorable crushes on Ethan (Nathan Parsons) and Johnny (Brandon Barash).
It was in 2016 that the character returned from college and revealed to having feelings for her female professor Parker (Ashley Jones). Their relationship ended in shambles, but it got Kristina to questioning her sexuality. When she first admitted her confusion to Molly (then-Haley Pullos), her younger sister immediately labeled her as gay, to which Kristina stated she was questioning being bisexual.
Did Natalie Mislabel Kristina?
Kristina has since been out and proud about being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, even starting an LGBT homeless youth center in Port Charles (which has seemingly been put on hold since her pregnancy with Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ’s (Tajh Bellow) baby). But after a conversation with her new girlfriend Blaze’s (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) mom Natalia (Eva LaRue), it begs the question of whether she’s been mislabeled by the less-than-accepting woman, or simply decided on a different term for her sexuality.
Natalie attempted a heart-to-heart with Kristina and Sonny (Maurice Benard), during which she blatantly asked her daughter’s girlfriend’s father if it was always easy for him “having a daughter that’s gay.”
