“Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan will take the stage in East Texas this fall to answer questions. “An Evening with Taylor Sheridan,” scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 21 in Mount Pleasant, a small Texas town about 150 miles east of Fort Worth, will have a one-hour, moderated question and answer session with the North Texas native. The event comes from East Texas Speakers Forum, a nonprofit “dedicated to bringing high-quality, inspiring individuals to speak” in towns in the eastern part of the state. Past speakers include Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, former President George W. Bush and former U.S. Senator Martha McSally. Tickets for the Sheridan event are on sale now and range from $25 to $105 depending on seating.

Sheridan began his entertainment career as an actor nearly three decades ago. From episodes in “Walker, Texas Ranger” and “Party of Five,” to “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” and “Star Trek: Enterprise,” Sheridan worked steadily as an actor from the late ‘90s to early ‘00s. His longest tenured acting job was on the biker series “Sons of Anarchy” as Deputy Chief David Hale for 21 episodes from 2008 to 2010.

Sheridan’s first screenwriting credit would come in 2015’s “Sicario,” an action-thriller about the drug war along the U.S. and Mexico border. “Hell or High Water,” a film he wrote, released just one year later and earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. In 2017, Sheridan wrote and directed the crime thriller “Wind River” about a murder on a Native American reservation. But three movies in three years was just the beginning for Sheridan’s Hollywood career. The Paramount Network premiered the Sheridan-created series “Yellowstone” in 2018 to much acclaim. From then on, Paramount would stay in business with Sheridan.

In 2021, two Sheridan-created shows premiered on Paramount+, “Mayor of Kingstown” and the “Yellowstone” prequel “1883.” By 2022, Paramount+ rolled out a couple more Sheridan shows in “Tulsa King” and another “Yellowstone” prequel, “1923.” Last year, Paramount+ premiered Sheridan’s “Special Ops: Lioness” over the summer and “Lawmen: Bass Reeves” in the fall.

Currently, Sheridan has four shows in production around the country. “Landman,” starring Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore, has been filming in and around Fort Worth since February. “Lioness” season 2 starring Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman just began production last month in Fort Worth. Up north in Montana, cameras have been rolling on the final episodes of “Yellowstone” season 5 since early May. Finally in Oklahoma, “Tulsa King” with Sylvester Stallone has been filming its second season since April.
