The Kansas City Chiefs tight end learned the action hero was a big fan of his while hosting Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?

In an exclusive preview clip shared with Newsweek, Sylvester Stallone’s daughter, Sophia Stallone, shares the gem of knowledge with Kelce who hosts the quiz show.

Kelce has hosted the spin-off of the classic game show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming platform since October.

The episodes air weekly on Wednesday and this week’s instalment has Kelce bowled over to learn about Sylvester Stallone’s admiration for him.

In the clip, Sophia Stallone is chosen to help a contestant answer a series of fifth-grade level questions in the hopes of winning $100,000.

As she approaches the podium, Kelce confesses, “I’ve got to tell you, I’m a big fan of your father,” revealing he loves the Rocky actor.

“Well, he’s a big fan of you,” Sophia Stallone responds, to which Kelce is lost for words and seems thrilled at the revelation. “You’re helping him kill it on his ‘Fantasy League,’ you’ve saved him,” she said.

Fantasy Football League is an online game for fans of the sport to act as owners and coaches of NFL teams. They are awarded points based on the actual performances of players in the real NFL competition.

Newsweek contacted Kelce’s representatives by email for comment.

Following Sophia Stallone’s quip, Kelce shared an admission of his own, in that he recreated her father’s run up the Philadelphia Museum steps as boxer Rocky Balboa in the first Rocky movie. It is often considered one of the most iconic scenes in movie history.

Upon his admission, Sophia Stallone asked Kelce if he “did the jump at the end too?” to which the footballer replied, “Come on now, that’s the point of it.”

Kelce said he also performed air punches like Rocky and demonstrated his boxing skills for all to see, as the crowd cheered loudly.

“I know he’s at home so proud of that,” Sophia Stallone told Kelce.

Then from the side of the stage where the other celebrities were sitting, comedian Nicole Byer, who was also impressed with Kelce’s boxing, called out to him to “do that little punch again.”

Kelce obliged but admitted the jacket he was wearing was “a little tight and I can’t really get” the full punch effect.

Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? is an innovative twist on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader and brings in a classroom full of celebrities to help adult contestants answer questions from an elementary curriculum.
