Life is pretty bright for General Hospital’s Diane Miller — she continues to practice her brand of representation in Port Charles and is the attorney you want on your side when you’re facing a judge — and it’s doubly so for her portrayer, Carolyn Hennesy, who’s celebrating a major milestone.

Happy Birthday, Carolyn Hennesy!

That’s because she was born on June 10, 1962, in Encino, California, which means that this talented actress is turning 62 years old today! Hennesy began her career with a bit part in the film I Don’t Buy Kisses Anymore.

Subsequently, she guest-starred in a plethora of television programs, including Dark Justice, Grace Under Fire, Wings, Party of Five, and The Naked Truth. Between 1997 and 1998, she had a recurring role on the sitcom Jenny.

Between 2000 and 2001, Hennesy recurred on Dawson’s Creek in the role of Mrs. Valentine. Among her other credits are the feature films Global Effect, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, & Blonde, and Click.

Her other credits include recurring roles in Cougar Town, True Blood, Jessie, and Revenge as well as roles in television movies like Deadly Invasion: The Killer Bee Nightmare and Recipe for Disaster.

She joined the cast of General Hospital in the role of legal eagle Diane Miller on December 13, 2006, and she has been a recurring presence ever since. For her efforts, Hennesy was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2010. She won for Outstanding Supporting or Guest Actress in a Digital Drama for The Bay in 2017, and was nominated two more times in the same category for her work on Studio City in 2020 and 2021, the latter year also saw her as a Supporting nominee for her GH role.

She has lent her vocals to a number of projects, including films (Scream of the Bikini), television shows (such as Star Wars Resistance), and video games (like the .hack// franchise). In fact, she took over the voice role of General Leia Organa from the late Carrie Fisher in the animated series Star Wars: Resistance and Lego Star Wars: All-Stars.

She has also authored several books, specifically the Pandora series (seven novels and counting) and the GH tie-in novel The Secret Life of Damian Spinelli (which reached number 16 on the New York Times Best Seller list).
