Spoilers for General Hospital reveal It’s going to be even better for Ava Jerome (Maura West) when Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) returns to Port Charles. When these two last saw one another, Griffin had just flown through town and dropped by the hospital to see how his old buddies were doing. Amalie was among them. When he returns in the new year, she will be touched to see that he still views her as such.
Will Ava get swept away with the thought of rekindling something with Griffin, and can either of them truly forgive one another after everything that happened between them — and with Ava’s daughter, Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin)? Moreover, will Ava just come to rely on Griffin all over again to keep her on the right track as her life spirals further out of control?
What About Ellie?
When we saw Griffin’s name appear on Ellie Trout’s (Emily Wilson) phone last Christmas, the writers of GH dangled the bait that he might return, implying that they were now a thing.
After returning to Port Charles for almost a year, Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) still hasn’t expressed his feelings to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). But it makes sense that he and Ellie have essentially split up already.
So there would be no further reason for her to come into the picture or be a figure in Griffin’s life. Let’s call it a plot hole and move on.
Suggest Griffin Munro Has Moved On In More Ways Than One
It’s not just Ellie that Griffin has sidestepped for greener pastures. Believing Port Charles still holds the key to his happiness, and trusting he has healed enough from the trauma of losing Kiki to come back, rumor has it he’s going to step into Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) role at the hospital.
If Griffin is ready to pursue his career in medicine in Port Chuck, Ava certainly isn’t going to turn away his concerns for her well-being. He knows her well, and also, she never changes.
When he takes note of how rattled she is, she just might clue him in on what’s been happening to her ever since Austin died.
Codependency Calls
Griffin always did want to fix Ava and help her heal from her demons. In some ways, she has. In others, not so much.
He might believe that it is his duty to save Ava from herself once more when he discovers that she has been succeeding for a number of years and that she was tricked by a person he thought to be trustworthy into a web of treachery and hazardous mob connections.
Was this something he already learned, or did Kiki just show up to divert his attention? In any case, there’s a notion that these two will quickly revert from being just friends to lovers.
