General Hospital Spoilers: Will Carly Choose Drew Or Jason Morgan (Steve Burton)?

After Steve Burton revealed that he had completed filming his final scene for “Days of Our Lives” just before the holidays, fans of “General Hospital” (GH) started speculating about what might have happened.

The most important one is whether or not he’ll play Jason Morgan again on “General Hospital,” where he left amid the contentious vaccination mandate.

After being buried beneath a mountain of rock, Jason is thought to be dead, although searches did not turn up anything.

It’s not a huge deal because soap opera characters frequently die, so the narrative might be that he discovered another tunnel and excavated his escape, a la Sylvester Stallone in “First Blood.”

But assuming this happens and Jason returns to Port Charles after a year missing, there’s going to be some things for him to catch up on, and one of those is Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is with his twin Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) for the moment.

Carly really wants Jason

We say for the moment because it feels like Drew is a place holder of sorts, and in an interview with Steve and Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) on their Daily Drama Podcast, she hinted that Carly could be with Drew because he has Jason’s memories.

Laura was quick to point out no one’s said that to her, but it sounds like it’s her version of her character’s motives. So what does that mean?

Well, for ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers it means that Drew’s the second choice and when Jason comes back he’s a dead man walking in their relationship.

Which is kinda sad after he was willing to give up his daughter’s financial future to bail Carly out, went to prison for Carly, and goes to Carly first when he’s back while letting his daughter play the role of a red-headed stepchild.

Yeah, Drew’s lacking in a few areas, and how much he’s lacking will become evident when and if Jason returns.

More possibilities

Naturally, new plot points involving Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will become possible with Jason’s homecoming because he could not be eager to get back into Sonny’s organization or a relationship with Carly.

He’s welcome back, but he has his own problems to attend to, so there will be an adjustment period that may take some time to resolve.

However, Drew returned as if nothing had happened, so it’s feasible that the authors will also choose to sidestep Jason.
