Home and Away fans are lovingly poking fun at some of the unrealistic things that happen in Summer Bay, and no, we’re not talking about kidnappings, many unfortunate vehicle accidents, or random shootings or stabbings.
Taking to a Facebook fan group, one Home and Away fan posed a question to fellow viewers, asking what made people laugh when watching the show.
“Hey everyone, so I’m mindful that it is ‘just a show’ however just out of interest I wondered what really unrealistic things make people giggle whilst watching? For example the fact certain members seem to get take-out every day?” they asked.
Fans enthusiastically took to the comments section to point out some of the consistent, trivial things that make them giggle, with the empty coffee cups coming out as a fan-fave.
“It’s so obvious that the takeaway coffees are empty,” one person said, with many people liking the comment. “The empty coffee cups gets me every time,” another agreed. “Then they buy them for all their flatmates and they don’t drink them. How do they afford that?”
“How the coffee cart coffee machine works outside with no power/generator?” someone else pointed out.
Others said they wouldn’t trust mechanics Justin or Theo with their cars, given how little time they spend in the shop, and many wondered how the residents of Summer Bay can just up and leave their jobs whenever life throws them a curveball.
“That Justin or Theo never actually work in the auto shop. I’d never take my car there!” one person commented.
“I love how they just leave their work for personal issues all the time,” someone else said. “I love how they can take off at a moment’s notice and go on ‘get-aways’,” another fan commented.
And for those residents of Summer Bay who do work, fans still had queries about how their workplaces can even run efficiently.
“Dressed in a t-shirt and shorts to work in a restaurant,” one person pointed out. “Remi doesn’t work but can eat and drink out a lot!”
“Only hospital I know where you can get seen straightaway, tests back in record time, surgery same day and never any other patients in there lol,” another laughed.
“Rose always turns up to places alone in full uniform but not actually on duty. Yet discussing police information with her friends. Breach of confidentiality,” someone else commented.
And finally fans could all agree on this comment. “I wish I could also have a diet of pizza and look like them,” one person remarked.
