Home and Away fans were left devastated when fan-favourite character Felicity Newman died in heartbreaking scenes after collapsing and being rushed to hospital
Home and Away fans have been left devastated after Felicity Newman collapsed in shocking scenes.
The Australian soap aired some heartbreaking scenes on Monday night, when she collapsed during an emotional conversation with her ex-husband Tane Parata. Devastated fans will now have to say goodbye to actress Jacqui Purvis, who played Felicity, as it has been confirmed that she is leaving the soap and departing Summer Bay for good.
After the emotional conversation, fans were heartbroken to see her collapse and viewers rushed to social media to pay tribute to the actress, who has been leading the way in the Channel Seven soap drama for four years.
Taking to social media, one fan wrote: “One of the best actresses Home and Away has ever had,” whilst a second added: “She honestly deserves to be in blockbusters. So sad to see Flick go. What an incredible character!”
“This is so going to be gut wrenching to watch,” a third penned, with a fourth adding: “Haven’t stopped crying, this show will be empty without Flick.” A fifth shared: “Flick was awesome! Only wished her and Tane stayed together. Also thought her exit would be a bit more explosive,” with a sixth writing: “Nooo absolutely loved watching Flick, her energy & sparkle.”
What exactly happens next has yet to be revealed but Jacqui has revealed she is heading for Hollywood like some of her fellow soap stars. Speaking about her time on the show, she said: “I’ve had an incredible time on the show. Some of the best years of my life. However, I knew I wanted an international career, so, I had to make the decision to leave and take the plunge. I owe so much to the show, [and] because of it, I feel confident and ready to take on the international stage.”
