A disgraced former Home and Away star has had shock news after violently stomping on the head of a woman at a Melbourne home earlier this year.
Disgraced Home and Away heart-throb Orpheus Pledger faces up to six more weeks in jail without sentencing after violently stomping on the head of a woman at a Melbourne home earlier this year.
Pledger on Monday pleaded guilty to charges including causing injury and unlawful assault.
This morning’s sentencing hearing was pushed back to today so a community corrections order could be prepared, but in an unexpected update, Magistrate Justin Foster informed the court that because of Pledger’s “more complex needs” a full pre-sentence report is required from corrective services.
He said the process could take “six weeks”.
Pledger’s lawyer Jasper MacCuspie argued instead for bail, noting that the report required was generally reserved for “people who have been on corrections orders many times previously.”
He stressed “further time in custody is not warranted”.
As of today, the fallen TV star has been in pre-sentence custody for 96 days.
Pledger appeared in court for the first time today since proceedings began and it was expected he may be released under a corrections order. The court confirmed a bail application has been listed for 3pm today.
