Mali and Kirby bicker about his opportunity to be represented in an art gallery. She can’t fathom why he’s reluctant to do it. Kirby enlists Rose’s help and she heads downstairs to try and persuade him, but he brushes her off and heads home.
Xander asks Kirby why she cares so much and she explains that this could be what Mali is supposed to do with his life, so he can’t waste an opportunity like this. Something about this hits home for Xander.
Kirby ambushes Mali at home and he finally admits his hesitation with meeting the guy from the gallery. Mali frets that he may be expecting to meet a ‘real’ artist. She argues that anyone that can paint like Mali is a real artist and his art doesn’t always have to come from a place of pain. Finally coming around, he calls the guy from the gallery, arranging a meeting next week.

Unable to sleep, Cash writes a letter back. What will he say?
Elsewhere, Theo worries that Justin is still mad at him about Claudia’s car, but Justin is actually caught up in his offer to drive Claudia around. On one of their trips, Claudia gets a phone call from her husband and asks Justin to pull over. It sounds tense.
Justin mentions to Claudia that he can tell something’s not right at home. He asks her if her husband is a problem. She clarifies that he’s not harming her, but he has lost his job and she’s crumbling under the pressure of being the breadwinner. Later, when Leah asks where Justin has been all day, he lies to avoid telling his wife that he has been driving another woman around.
