Felicity takes a walk with Marshall, but her mind is still on Tane. Felicity insists that they keep their one-night stand as a one-off. Harper then approaches with good news – Sonia, baby Poppy’s mother, has agreed to testify in court on Tane’s behalf. Marshall confirms that this is exactly what they need, and there’s a renewed sense of hope for Tane’s future.
Rose is not feeling hopeful as she quizzes Tane over missing his bail check-in. She urges him to give her a reason why it happened, but he stays quiet. Rose insists that he’ll have to explain it to the magistrate instead
Rose calls Marshall, but Tane isn’t pleased to see him. He makes a jibe about how Marshall should have been concentrating on his case, rather than sleeping with his ex-wife. Marshall tries to reason with him, but a jealous Tane fires him. Rose has to put Tane in a cell to keep the two apart.
Harper and Felicity also fail to get through to Tane when they pop by the cells with a lasagne, so Felicity makes one final plea to Marshall, who’s there waiting when Tane wakes in the cell. He challenges Tane to decide what’s more important – his freedom or his pride. Tane relents and instructs Marshall to find a way to get him out.
Meanwhile, Theo is keen to get through his final TAFE exams. Justin is quick to remind him that once he completes TAFE, he’ll have more responsibilities at the garage. Justin wants to know how he plans to manage that, but Theo doesn’t appreciate the extra pressure and is short with Justin as his stress builds.
Eventually, Theo agrees to let Justin quiz him ahead of the exam, but when Leah arrives home, he decides to confront the truth – he knows that they’re all over him because they’re worried that he’ll fall back into old habits. Leah admits he’s right. It’s clear that he appreciates their support, but he knows he has to do this on his own.
