One Home and Away fan has jokingly pointed out a Summer Bay privilege that the rest of Australia should be allowed to experience.

One Home and Away fan has taken to a fan group to jokingly point out something that Summer Bay really has going for it that the rest of Australia could undoubtedly benefit from. On Facebook, the Home and Away fan poked fun at how the Summer Bay hospital, Northern Districts, manages to run so efficiently despite all the high drama in the town (including shootings, stabbings etc).

“If I ever need to go to hospital I am going straight to Northern Districts Hospital. No long waiting times. No triage nurses,” the fan said. “You go straight in after you get out of the lift and there is always a doctor to see you straight away, and straight into a bed. I wish our health system was like that.”

Many fans agreed, laughing at the fact that the Summer Bay residents really can have it all when it comes to healthcare — any slight mishap and no need to worry about waiting in emergency — you’ll get straight into your own private room!

Home and Away fans express their desire to live in Summer Bay: ‘Fantastic health care’

Many people flocked to the comments to point out all of the positives when it came to living and being treated in the (fictional) coastal town.

“You can have as many visitors walking in and out without being told off,” one person said. “I would love to live in Summer Bay. Fantastic health care and you get to be near the beach,” another person commented.

“I was thinking the same, and the first person you meet is the doctor not a stressed out nurse or secretary,” another fan laughed.

Others pointed out that the doctors (all very good-looking obviously) also get away with a lot, with zero consequences.

“Bree attended to Levi’s stabbing last week (UK viewing) without scrubbing!” one person pointed out. “Not only that but the nurses are allowed to wear tank tops and crop tops and no gloves,” another said.

“I’ve always said I want to live there, all the things I could get away with,” someone else joked.

“Quick recovery too. You can be on death’s door on Monday’s episode and by Wednesday you are being discharged,” someone else laughed. “Not only that you don’t have to work, cook or make coffee, or pay for anything!” another fan said.

Obviously we all know it’s JUST a show, but really… Australia’s healthcare could take some pointers from Summer Bay (minus the lack of hygiene from the medical staff, of course).
