Home and Away’s Tane Parata stands accused of letting Perri Hayes down on UK screens next week.
Tane is forced to face the consequences after prioritising Harper Matheson and their unborn baby over Perri.
This week’s episodes see Tane prepare to support Perri in court, as the teen is due to give evidence against his abusive father Carl.
Just when Tane is about to leave for the hearing, he learns that Harper has rushed off to hospital for a check-up after experiencing bleeding.
Tane abandons his original plan for the day and races off to support Harper at the hospital. He’s relieved when tests confirm that the baby is fine, but the day takes a turn for the worse when Rose Delaney confirms that Carl was found not guilty in court.
In follow-on scenes next week, Perri panics after the disappointing outcome of the hearing. He fears that Carl will continue harassing him after escaping punishment for his previous violence.
Perri also can’t help feeling that Tane’s absence affected the outcome, as he struggled while giving evidence without anyone there to provide moral support.
The reality sinks in for Tane as Perri expresses his hurt over the situation, pointing out that his dad never used to keep his promises either.
Tane gently explains that he feared Harper was losing the baby and he had no choice other than to support her.
Perri tries his best to be understanding, but the tough situation still hurts and he remains terrified that Carl will soon come after him again.
Later in the week, Perri’s worst fears are realised as Carl starts lurking around the Bay.
Alf Stewart, who’s unaware of Carl’s identity, inadvertently makes matters worse by telling him that he can find Perri at the gym.
Heading down there, Carl tries his best to intimidate Perri by issuing new threats and promising to be back soon.
Once back at home, Perri feels unable to tell Tane about Carl’s sinister visit. Will he continue suffering in silence?
Home and Away airs these scenes on Monday, November 4 and Tuesday, November 5 on Channel 5.
