As it turns out, they’ve been dating for more than two years. The “Watermelon Moonshine” singer revealed as much in a June 2023 interview with The Bobby Bones Show.
“He’s been around for a while,” she said. “I just decided to make him wait for two and a half years.” Wilson, 31, also called her 27-year-old beau a “good dude.”
“He knows what it’s like chasing a dream because he’s done that for himself,” she said. “…But I’ll tell you, he is good as gold. Supports me, would never come in between anything that I’m trying to do. He’s like, ‘Go get it, girl.’ And I made him wait for a while. I mean…it’s been a little over two years now.”
In 2021, Wilson told PEOPLE that she ended a relationship with her high-school sweetheart to pursue her music career.
“He was the only thing I had ever known,” she said. “We grew up together. He was my best friend. We saw each other through a lot of different phases in our life. But I knew I would have to leave something behind, so I could try to do the damn thing in Nashville.”

Fans on Reddit had speculated that Lainey Wilson was dating former Pittsburgh Steelers player Devlin “Duck” Hodges after she was spotted wearing his jersey during a show on April 29 in photos she posted on Instagram. Hodges commented, “Well you got my number. How about I get yours now?😄”
