Donnell Turner told Jennifer Hudson that he met Snoop Dogg and the Doggfather of Cool wants to make a GH appearance.
While many cast members like John Stamos and Demi Moore have gone on to greater fame, General Hospital has also had many celebrities who were very interested in appearing on the show over the years. Some of these famous guest stars include James Franco and Elizabeth Taylor. A few cast members were recently guests on The Jennifer Hudson Show. During the appearance, Donnell Turner mentioned one celebrity who is definitely interested in a guest star stint on the venerable soap.
Turner Met The Doggfather of Rhymes
On the talk show, Hudson asked Turner if any celebrities had told him that they’d like to have a guest spot on GH. He remarked, “I’ve had a couple of occasions where people have said, ‘Yeah, you know, I would love to be on the show. [It’s] steady work.’ ” He noted that the people he’s spoken with fully understand the rigors of shooting a daytime show.
“And so a lot of people want to challenge themselves, and some people dare not,” he explained, mentioning that he finds it interesting when a celebrity asks if he can work his magic and get them on the show. He then surprised everyone when he stated, “I had an opportunity to meet Snoop Dogg,” and the audience went nuts.
Snoop Knows Frank
“Snoop is about as cool as you might imagine. And knows my boss, and so he’s like, ‘Frank Valentini? Oh man, I love Frank! Tell him, ‘What’s up?’” Turner’s response was to tell Snoop to tell Valentini, “What’s up?” himself, instructing the rapper to “Come on over here and play with us.” Co-star Laura Wright (Carly) stated, “That would be amazing.”
Turner further explained, “I workshopped it with Frank, and we tried, and then Snoop got busy, so hopefully, we’ll keep our fingers crossed.” Finola Hughes (Anna) noted that an appearance by Snoop Dogg “Would be so much fun.” Snoop had previously appeared in four episodes of the short-lived 2013 reboot of One Life to Live and even created a new theme song for the show called Brand New Start.
