Jack Wagner has played many iconic soap roles over the years. However, most fans recognize him as “Frisco” from GH.
These days, Jack Wagner is breaking hearts on When Calls the Heart. Viewers love seeing his alter-ego finally get his own romance on the show. The Hallmark star has taken on many iconic roles over the years. Yet, most people recognize him from his General Hospital days.
Hey, Frisco!
In an interview with Michael Fairman TV, Wagner admits that fans refer to him as some of the characters he played. But they don’t mention his role as Bill Avery on WCTH. Instead, most soap fans still recognize him for portraying Frisco on GH. Wagner was one-half of the iconic power couple, played by his ex-wife, Kristina. Frisco and Felicia shared two daughters, the late Georgie Jones and Maxie Jones.
“I still get called Frisco, probably more than anything. When a fan base starts to fall in love with the characters, it’s very real for them. It (When Calls the Heart) reminds me a little bit of the GH fans back in the ’80s,” Wagner said.
Iconic Soap Roles
The soap star has played many iconic roles over the decades, including Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose Place. The steamy primetime soap concluded its run in 1999. Wagner appeared in the final scene with his co-star Heather Locklear, who played Amanda. In that scene, Amanda and Peter faked their deaths by blowing up their hideout. The beloved couple ended up eloping on a private island.
“I felt really honored to have the last scene of the show to be Heather and I, having bought this island and faked our death and doing our vows and walking off on the beach in the sunset,” Wagner recalled. “(It) was like, wow, what an honor to kind of carry the old guard into the last scene of the show, right?”
