The hit Paramount+ TV show is headed back to our TV screens on September 15th, and fans can’t wait to see how the story unfolds with Dwight “The General” Manfredi, who is portrayed by acting legend Sylvester Stallone. Now that the premiere date has been set, the trailer for the second season of the Taylor Sheridan show has also dropped, and it features the voice of someone you might know.

Jelly Roll has been tapped to appear vocally during this season’s preview of Tulsa King. In the trailer, a sample of his unreleased song “Get By” is used, which fits the high-energy crime drama. The song was also used by ESPN for this upcoming college football season.

The lyrics of this new single are very different from the mental health-focused lyrics that Jelly Roll has previously been singing in his newer singles, such as “I Am Not Okay.” After Manfredi is seen in front of a judge, Jelly Roll’s song comes on, and the lyrics are very fitting for the action-packed trailer’s visuals.

“I light every bridge I see just to watch it burn
If you’d seen all the hell I’ve seen, it’d make your stomach turn
I might drink a little
I might smoke a lot
Show up Sunday mornin’
Looking just like last night
Yeah, that’s how I get by.”

Given Stallone’s character is a “reformed” convict, these lyrics are spot on. If you have seen season one, then you know why I chose to put quotes around reformed, but hey, I’m not here to spoil anything for those who have yet to watch the show.

I hope we get some more country music season of Tulsa King, and starting with Jelly Roll is an electric way to come out of the gate. September 15th, we are ready for you.

While you’re here, check out the preview Jelly Roll has uploaded for “Get By.” I hope this one is released soon because it sounds like a certified heater.
