The ‘Foolish Games’ singer blushed as she called Costner ‘a great person’ during an interview with Elle magazine

Jewel is keeping fans guessing about her connection with Kevin Costner.

During an interview with Elle Magazine published on Wednesday, April 10, Jewel, 49, briefly spoke about the Yellowstone actor, 69, and said, “He’s a great person.”

Per the outlet, she was blushing and added, “The public fascination is intense for sure.”

There has been speculation surrounding the singer and actor since they were seen together at a charity event in the British Virgin Islands in December 2023.

Jewel was previously married to rodeo champion Ty Murray. The two eloped in 2008 before they divorced in 2014. They share 12-year-old son Kase.

She opened up to PEOPLE about the split in 2017 and shared how it had impacted their family.

“I think going through a divorce was really hard. It wasn’t what I wanted,” she said at the time. “I don’t think any parent goes into a relationship and a marriage and having a child thinking of a divorce one day.”

She added in part, “I don’t know if that’s a regret. One of the reasons I got divorced, though, is when I looked at my child, I realized I wasn’t the woman I wanted him to know. I had to change some things about myself.”

Costner and his ex-wife Christine finalized their divorce in February.

A rep for Kevin told PEOPLE in a statement back in September that the couple “have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings,” after TMZ initially reported news of their settlement.

“Kevin is relieved that this matter has been settled and will continue to focus solely on jointly raising their three children,” a source told PEOPLE at the time.

Christine initially filed for divorce on May 1, 2023 after 18 years of marriage. In her filing, she listed her date of separation from Kevin as April 11. The two share three children: sons Cayden, 16, and Hayes, 15, plus daughter Grace, 13.
