People have been trying to make sense of the behind the scenes drama on Yellowstone for ages now. It doesn’t even matter that the show is finally done and people are trying to wash their hands of any disagreements. People still want to figure out what the real issue is amongst the cast. Ultimately, It all seems to revolve around Kevin Costner. Still, nothing to scandalous comes out in interviews. Costner himself flat out shuts down any of the speculation.
Recently, the Daily Mail captures a video of the former John Dutton tackling the final episode of Yellowstone. Well, sort of. They always say no answer is an answer and that’s applicable here. The person behind the camera asks Kevin about the show’s finale and gets a pretty flat chuckle in response. “I’m not even thinking about that. I don’t think I’ve given it any thoughts. We’ll just let it go, thank you man,” Costner says.
Kevin Costner Gives a Non-Response to Questions About Yellowstone
Kevin Costner sure is playing it cool despite getting killed off the show in the lamest way possible. All parties involved keep it pretty vague. Luke Grimes is the one that actually opened up the can of worms. He told Esquire that there was a lot less tension without the Dutton patriarch on the set. “Hopefully everyone can see that it was time. To be really honest, there was a part of Kevin being gone that meant some of the conflict was gone. Obviously, it didn’t make it super fun to be around. Not pointing any fingers, but it was actually the easiest season we’ve filmed,” Luke reveals.
Additionally, Luke hasn’t spoken with Kevin Costner since his departure either. He has his phone number but all things are quiet in terms of interaction. “He can reach out to me if he wants to. None of us saw it coming the way it did, and obviously there was news about possible blowups behind the scenes or whatever. But just like in life, man, these things happen, they happen fast, and they’re not predictable,” Grimes says.
