A source told PEOPLE in January that Christine Costner and Josh Connor were dating
Kevin Costner’s ex-wife Christine is stepping out with her boyfriend Josh Connor.
Christine, 50, was seen holding hands with financier Connor, a longtime friend and former neighbor of the divorced couple, while out for a walk together in Santa Barbara, California, on May 14.
PEOPLE reported in January that Christine and Connor had been dating for months, when a friend of Christine’s said the pair have been seeing each other “since she split from Kevin.”
Christine initially filed for divorce on May 1, 2023, after 18 years of marriage to Kevin, 69. When she filed, she listed their date of separation as April 11. She and Connor were initially seen spending time together in Hawaii during a July 2023 trip that included her kids with Kevin: Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 13.
“Josh was initially just a friend,” the insider told PEOPLE in January, adding that Christine “likes hanging out with him.”
“He is a divorced dad and understands what she’s been going through. They both love the ocean and beach life. It’s something that makes Christine happy,” the source said at the time.
Christine’s attorney John Rydell dismissed rumors of a romance between Christine and Connor during August 2023 child support hearings in her divorce from Kevin. At the time, Rydell stated that Connor was a friend and “nothing more than that.”
A second source connected to the Costners told PEOPLE in January that Christine and Connor “are dating, although they had a strong friendship before that,” and added that the pair are in the “same place in their lives.”
“They are having a lot of fun together,” that source said at the time.
Kevin and Christine officially finalized their divorce in February. The former couple otherwise settled their divorce in September 2023 after months of legal back and forth, with a rep for the Horizon: An American Saga director-actor saying in a statement that they “have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings.”
