Lainey Wilson has all but confirmed that she’ll be returning to Yellowstone for the upcoming second half of Season 5.

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cassie DiLaura asks the “Hang Tight Honey” singer outright if she’s gotten the call from series creator Taylor Sheridan to reprise her character of Abby, who’s also a singer.

Wilson attempts a coy wink before commenting, “I can’t wink, but I’m doing something with my eye right now,” trailing off and laughing.

“It’s good news, I’ll tell you that,” she says on a more serious note, adding that she’s still got to make the scheduling work with her busy recording and touring career.

“Honestly, I don’t know exactly when they’re gonna start back up, but the truth is, we’re just trying to make sure that we have enough time to get in there and get it done, ’cause we’ve still got a lot going on right now. But it’s a priority.”

  • Wilson made her acting debut in the role of Abby at the beginning of Yellowstone‘s Season 5.
  • Her character was a love interest for Dutton ranch hand Ryan (Ian Bohen).

  • She shared her first onscreen kiss as part of that role, and told the Dutton Rules podcast her main rule for the scene.

Wilson adds that she has not yet spoken to Bohen about her return to the show.

The long-awaited second half of Yellowstone Season 5 is currently filming in Montana, multiple cast members have confirmed. The new episodes are slated to premiere on Paramount Network on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 8PM ET.

The first half of Season 5 premiered in late 2022, but the second half got delayed for more than a year amid scheduling conflicts with series creator Taylor Sheridan’s long roster of other shows, which contributed to a very public battle with series star Kevin Costner over scheduling conflicts.

Costner has confirmed his departure from the show, and Sheridan decided to pull the plug on subsequent seasons. The upcoming episodes will bring Yellowstone to an end, with a sequel in the planning stages that is rumored to star Matthew McConaughey.
