NCIS fans have been given their best look yet at the main cast of an exciting new prequel series set to take audiences back in time to the origins of Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
NCIS: Origins has dropped its first look at the CBS prequel series’ main cast hitting screens this October.
The latest entry to the action-packed crime-solving series recasts the iconic Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) with Austin Stowell, who’ll portray the future Special Agent in Charge in his younger years.
Origins turns back the clocks to the 1990s to follow Gibbs’ first steps in the NCIS, then named the NIS, at Camp Pendleton.
There are no high-tech gadgets to aid the team this time around, as the recently released snaps from the set emphasise the show’s retro feel – including just one computer.
Gibbs won’t be alone in his first steps to becoming an NCIS legend, as Kyle Schmid will be by his side as the renowned agent Mike Franks, who steps in as his mentor.
The rest of his team is now finally starting to take shape as eager fans have been given new portraits of the main cast.
They include Promised Land star Mariel Molino as Special Agent Lala Dominguez, a former Marine who’ll be working closely with Gibbs throughout the series.
Lala’s relationship with Gibbs could also evolve into something more as Origins goes on, as a description via TVLine confirms their dynamic will be “filled with sparks”.
Also joining the team is The Blacklist’s Diany Rodriguez as Special Agent Vera Strickland, a character who originally appeared in season 11 of the flagship NCIS show portrayed by Roma Maffia.
The Chi’s Tyla Abercrumbie will portray the “mama bear” of the group, Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo Hayes.
She’ll apparently be taking charge around the NIS office after appointing herself Head Secretary in Charge.
Finally, Caleb Foote will portray Special Agent Benjamin ‘Randy’ Randolf, a “golden boy” who’ll be showing Gibbs the ropes in the show’s first episodes.
The suited and booted cast has now been revealed in all their glory, complete with stylish and sometimes questionable ‘90s fashion.
However, there are still plenty of familiar faces yet to be introduced.
Hollywood stars Lori Petty and Bobby Moynihan have also joined the cast, portraying an assistant medical examiner and a forensic analyst, respectively.
Plus, Daniel Bellomy and Julian Black Antelope will be playing probationary agent Granville ‘Granny’ Dawson and Chief Medical Examiner Kai Blackrock, while Patrick Fischler heads up the task force as Special Agent in Charge Cliff Walker.
Finally, Robert Taylor will portray Gibbs’ father Jackson Gibbs.
