Rumored to be Eastwood’s final film, it will release in select theaters on November 1st

Warner Bros. has released the trailer for Clint Eastwood’s rumored final film, Juror #2, starring Nicholas Hoult. Watch it below.

In the courtroom thriller, Hoult plays a character named Justin Kemp who is serving jury duty on a murder trial and encounters a moral dilemma after realizing he may have caused the victim’s death.

According to the official synopsis, Kemp is a “family man” who “while serving as a juror in a high profile murder trial, finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma… one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict — or free — the accused killer.”

While speaking to People, Eastwood described Juror #2 as examining “the gray areas between the black and white of everyday circumstances and makes you decide for yourself.” He continued, “It really intrigues me when a story places a character in a moral dilemma, and this is one that we could all imagine ourselves in or relate to in some way.”

Eastwood directed the film from a screenplay by Jonathan Abrams (Escape Plan). The cast also features Toni Collette, J. K. Simmons, Kiefer Sutherland, Chris Messina, Zoey Deutch, Gabriel Basso, and Leslie Bibb.

Last year, it was reported that Eastwood had begun “closing in” on the movie as what was being billed internally as the final film of his career. The follow-up to 2021’s Cry Macho, it’s Eastwood’s 40th film as a director.

Juror #2 will have a limited release in select North American theaters on November 1st.
