Stallone knew Sheridan was the key, and even though he realized the Yellowstone lore wasn’t the perfect fit, fate opened new avenues with a project called Tulsa King. This match-made-in-cowboy-heaven lets Stallone finally ditch the guns for cowboy boots and fulfill his lifelong dream, all while making Sheridan’s day working with a legend. In an interview with Decider magazine, the action hero revealed,
I knew that no one was going to buy me as a just cowboy, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to play. Unbeknownst to me, Taylor was working on this project where this mafioso goes west and steps into that classic fish-out-of-water situation that we all love. When Taylor called and I read the script, I knew that the role of Dwight Manfredi taps into my desire to play that kind of cowboy character.
Tulsa King follows the story of fresh out-of-prison, mafia capo “The General” played by none other than Stallone, who gets dumped in Tulsa, Oklahoma by his boss. Ignoring the great culture shock, he gathers a quirky crew to build a new criminal empire.

I’m not supposed to be doing this, but I didn’t get here by following the rules,I’m in court. It’s going to be an interesting scene in Tulsa King. I’m enjoying the process. It’s different. We have to travel about an hour and a half to an old courthouse where I have to appeal my case. I’m my own lawyer, so that could turn out good or bad.
