“RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” is back with its ninth season, which debuted yesterday and is already trending on Paramount+ in the United States. Here, check all the details.

Once again, the multi-award-winning Emmy reality show about drag queens is trending worldwide. With the first episode of its ninth season airing yesterday, “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” is currently the No. 6 series on Paramount+ in the United States.

Back in 2010, RuPaul realized that fans of his production were quite frustrated whenever one of their favorite queens was eliminated. Thus, he created the “All Stars” sub-franchise as a side show for returning contestants who get a second chance at the crown.

Its followers devoured each episode and, naturally, demanded more. In 2022, the production team behind the series aired the first “All Winners” season, featuring contestants who were not only from the regular installments but also previous winners of the title of America’s drag superstar.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ is the sixth most-watched show on Paramount+ US

The ninth season of “All Stars” features the return of some of the most iconic queens, both new and old, from the show. It’s no surprise that it is currently in the Top 6 on Paramount+ US.

From the newer seasons, competing queens include Angeria Paris VanMicheals, Gottmik, Jorgeous, Nina West, Plastique Tiara, and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. Fan favorites for the top prize are Angeria and Gottmik, although it’s rumored that Plastique will have an impressive glow-up.

The show has often been criticized for not bringing queens from the first seasons to “All Stars,” as they reached legend status. This time, although the production team included only two of such contestants, they are indeed drag race royalty: Shannel from season 1 and Roxxxy Andrews from season 5.

One of the most notable differences in this installment is that, for the first time in the show’s history, contestants will be competing for a $200,000 contribution to a charity of their choice, provided by The Palette Fund.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars” season 9 streams exclusively on Paramount+, with episodes airing every Friday at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT. It will feature the usual judge panel, with guest judges including Keke Palmer, Alec Mapa, Connie Britton, and Stephanie Hsu.
